Manhattan House ArchitectureManhattan House is one of the most influential pieces of architecture from the city's mid-century period. Inspired by Le Corbusier, the father of Modernist architecture, Manhattan House was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the internationally renowned architecture firm responsible for the Time Warner Center, the St. Regis Hotel and Residences and the Lever House. The first master architect Gorden Bunshaft, was lead designer as well as a resident. His building was honored with landmark status in 2007, and was recently designated as the host site for the 2008 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, the premier design exposition in North America.
